I'm not fooling myself for an instant, but this is amusing and endearing regarding the gold standard of mega steriods blasted into her ancient and lovely fuzz. Lazer her derned self, opened the door to her bedroom crate, she then minced/walked down to the kitchen for water, came to us in the family room and barked once for out and for food. A tablespoon of beef, rice and chicken broth and bowl licked clean. Head up nose sniffing - checking for more. (Think the incredible hulk, but on a tiny apricot instead of jolly green scale. ) Doodleman is cradling her and rubbing her neck and back on heating pad, and she is finally mercifully resting comfortably- or at least more comfortably than prior. Karen, you are so right - never gets easy, no matter how many times we've been through it. Yep. Of the e-vet's "weak sister" (my vet's notions of them) scripts for a truly suffering dog of such advanced years, said Doc Painless "blank excrement." My thoughts precisely. She may or may not sustain a brief rally, but whatever she does, she is not in such awful pain now; which is what I most care about. Yep.
