Posted by dolores on August 4, 2007, 9:21 am He just met his cousins (one was an undersize pet store Chihuahua, yes I have been preaching about pet stores for years to the kid who bought him to no avail) and he was thrilled. It was the first time I saw him with company, and I have it in mind to get him a companion dog. What I'd like: -- to rescue an approx. two year old dog; Any suggestions? It won't be for a year or so, but I'd like to start trolling the rescue boards now. Thank you for any and all ideas.

Ricky is a two and a half year old miniature poodle, energetic as the day I got him, and hopefully won't be slowing down any time soon.
-- smallish, in the range of 10-12 pounds;
-- doesn't need grooming, but is not a fanatical shedder, if that is possible;
