Still better than a lot of Seagal's movies.
I just remember thinking this was an awful film by actors who I had never seen in a bad film before.
I'm glad you watched it again so I don't have to.
Thanks Glen!
Firepower is a movie with a troubled history. Written by the guy who wrote the screenplay to The Stone Killer. It was supposed to be written as a Dirty Harry movie, then was supposed to star Charles Bronson. Eventually, they got down to James Coburn, on the downside of his career, and afflicted by Arthritis.
The set up is kind of complicated. Sophia Loren's husband is killed by a hit set up by a reclusive billionaire. She goes to the FBI. They can't do anything. (the more things change the more they stay the same) They go to a mafia guy to get abduct the billionaire.
They settle on James Coburn, playing the role that got him originally cast as Hannibal Smith on the A-Team. He recruits OJ Simpson to help.
They go around, hang out with Billy Barty, shoot some guns, and eventually get the guy.
Strange type of 70's ending with Victor Mature.
I think Bronson was relieved he didn't get this part.
