If power and authority were important to RINOs, they'd care about winning elections. It's plain to see that they don't care about that. I think cocktail parties are the end all and be all of their existence.
Cocktail party invites may give RINOs the warm snugglies, but they provide no route to power or authority.
Even McCain only got what he did due to his seniority in the GOP and not because the Dems loved him so much.

After wasting ten minutes on that article, I'm not certain Mallon even knows what he wants. It seems to be some nebulous cloud of civility that has meaning without any actual results or benefits.

Willkie's legacy of politely losing has never gone away. It's proud lineage includes Nixon in 1960, rockefeller, Ford, George Romney, John Anderson, George Bush, Bob Dole, Jon McCain, and Mitt Romney. There's dozens more out there: Jeb!, Jeff Flake, and oh so many more.
