Well, since you're talking about CA, they already do. You always complain about how much taxes CA pays. That's at every echelon.
Well, Hollywood can start paying their fair share anytime...
Here in CA, only three percent of the revenues from the gas tax goes towards infrastructure. This is well known to all, except the most dismally ignorant. The vast majority of the recent increase in the gsa tax goes not towards, roads, as politicians and the press would have us believe, but towards keeping pensions politicians mismanaged afloat.
It doesn't matter how much taxes are raised if none of the money actually goes towards infrastructure.
Who should be paying for infrastructure. Who is going to pay for our expensive wars; not to mention our expensive military budget? I know, let's not give handouts to the poor, but, we're doing the same with people who have more money they can spend, after awhile, it's a just a number.
I used to work a large financial institution. I'm not rich, however, even to me, it became just a number and if you can't reach the numbers I was seeing, you don't deserve our services. Even if you are middle-class.
If you have a family budget, you must know that what goes in must go out. And what comes in must be more.
Why make them pay more than anyone else? It's a serious question although I don't really expect you to give me a serious answer. But you may surprise me.
How about less taxes for the middle class and more taxes for people like Trump? Like during the 1950's.
How about less taxes?
How about more loopholes for the middle-class?
I find that rather telling considering how Dems are always complaining about giving the rich loopholes so they don't have to pay as much tax.
You drive on the freeway, don't you?

Then I guess we can do away with the IRS.
