-------> Sadly, this is what people want to watch. It is hard to watch anything these days without that.
Racial slurs in nearly every conversation (even though used exclusively by black characters). Bad
----> Realistic though. That is how the street kids and gang punks talk. When they are in my house visiting, they are not allowed to talk that way and they respect my rules. But when I was at their baseball and football games, heck when I helped coach their basketball team - this is how they talk to each other.
The plot and execution was pretty good, but the rest was ridiculous. Especially 'rebel without a cause' Jennifer.
----> I dunno, I have 2 kids and both went through a rebellious stage. My oldest is married and some times he is still that way. Drives me nuts and we do have some conflict. His wife is working on him.
I'd almost swear someone is trying to tank this show.
---> no it is an inner city
Oriented show - some white people are having a problem with it.
Watching this - I am having some flash backs, Having worked in ER's, Morgues and Funeral homes.... opening the morgue drawer so some mother can ID her dead kid, picking up an injured kid on the street - watching parents get the news that their kid was killed - putting that kid in a cold metal drawer.
I've been in homes where they first thing out of their mouth was ''White people are not welcome here....'' But because I was there to help, they let me in.
I've been in meetings where families are begging for help, but feel that they cannot trust the police. And as we see at the end, they cannot. Very Chicago Police move there, allowing the bad guy in to kill.
Reminds me of my family - Uncle was a moonshiner, the local cop (great grandfather) allowed him to hide the moonshine in the jail with the ATF people came to town.
