Alone

Once I was a wanderer,
Rushing to and fro,
Looking for a meaning to life,
Trying so hard to know.
I felt so empty, forlorn, and lost,
I felt like the shell of an egg.
No one knew me, no one loved me,
But for love I was willing to beg.
Then one day I met a man,
So quiet and patient and strong,
He knew my thoughts and feelings,
And he said I wasn't wrong.
No one loved me, no one cared,
No one knew I existed.
That's why he had come my way,
That's why he had visited.
I care, I love you, I know you,
His words echoed in my ears,
He was so tall and beautiful,
I could see him through my tears.
He wiped away my tears,
And threw away my pain,
He said, "I'm going to fix it,
So you'll never hurt again."
I will always love you,
I will always be there,
I will still care about you,
When there's no one else to care.
