Double Shamrock Dish cloth.

I have tried to make this dish cloth twice.After doing the first row(past the border) I end up with 46 stitches instead of 45 that I started with.
Has anyone else made this cloth and have problems with this?
After frogging twice, I have had enough.
Can anyone help me?
