If you follow the instructions for a few rounds the piece begins to make sense. What will happen is that as you crochet it will flatten out like the coin purses that you squeese togeather from the ends to open up. When the two ends meet you have a seam that runs diagonally across the back. Hope this helps
: I have a question about the
: "Crochet Potholder" on
: this site.
:
: The instructions say: Chain 38 or
: any number you want depending on the
: size, SINGLE CROCHET IN EACH CHAIN
: AROUND BOTH SIDES (no increases at
: the ends) continue to crochet around
: until the two ends meet. Sew ends
: together and you have a nice sturdy
: potholder.
:
: I know this sounds stupid but what
: is it wanting me to do? The part I
: put in all caps is what has me
: confused. I know an elderly lady who
: actually has a couple of these and
: absolutely loves them. I would love
: to be able to make her a few new
: ones.
:
: Thanks in advance!
