YO, WYIB as to Purling ?

have a question on "SnowDrop Lace" page 2, not sure I understand...Note comment, and Row 1 Note:Slip all stitches with yarn in back, and as if to purl.
Row 1: (RS) K5, * yo, wyib sl 1 as if to p, k2 tog, psso, yo, k5, repeat from * to last 8 sts, yo, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, yo, k5. How do you SL all stitches with yarn in back, as Purling ? Also, not sure on *YO, WYIB, SL 1...Do you YO by pulling the Yarn to the back and around and over, or pull it to the front and over...to get the wyib alway thought you worked the Purl yarn in front ?
