Hi Brenda,
You are changing colors every 2 rows. But you need to just change the color one time and than every 2 rows you will just take pick up the color that you need and use it .So you will just be taking it up the side. When you use your first color for the first time and are finished the first with it and need to start with the second color just take the new color and slide it into the first stitch of your next row.Just leave it a little long(like leaving a little tail.Than you have to hold it as it will be a little loose until you knit a few stitches across.Knit across the whole row and than you will use the second color again and knit the second row.Than when you have to use the first color just drop the second color and pick up the first color in your hand and start knitting with that again. So with each color you will just really be taking it up the side of your knitting.Sorry,I forget to mention that when you first start with your first color and than go to add your second color you will not cut the yarn of your first color you will just leave it where it is and than when you are starting your second color just slip the end thru the loop of your first stitch (you can tie it if you want)but I do not as you have a knot.I just slide it thru the stitch and than leaving a little tail I start knitting with the second color and knit for the 2 rows than let that color drop and than pick up the first color and it will just go up the side and keep doing this every 2 rows.So by joining your second color you will be using the 2 balls of yarn attached. But you will only be knitting with 1 color every 2 rows.Just pick up what ever color you need and drop the other one and it will just run up the sides for every 2 rows.It sounds hard but really simple. All you have to do later in the spot where you first added the new color is when you are done you will weave in the yarn (where you left the little tail from the new color)just like you weave in your ends.Hope this helps,Wanda
