To the person who questioned the Carl Barks influence, it should be noted that George Lucas is/was a big fan of the Duck Man, and even wrote the foreword for UNCLE SCROOGE McDUCK: HIS LIFE AND TIMES, in which he recalls: "I had a subscription to WALT DISNEY'S COMICS AND STORIES and like the Scrooge character so much I immediately went out and bought all the UNCLE SCROOGE comics I could find on the newsstand." The influence of Barks' story on the RAIDERS opening is well chronicled.
And Robby, you really should have titled your blog entry "RAIDERS OF THE LOST bARKs." Obviously, youy must not have read enough issues of Forry Ackerman's FAMOUS MONSTERS when you were growing up.
