It's no secret, that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are great admirers of Carl Barks. Both grew up reading his comics and bought several duck paintings, that Barks produced in the seventies. Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz even published »Uncle Scrooge McDuck: His Life and Times« (1981), a hefty collection of Barks tales. Lucas penned a foreword for this tome.
