John Olding was a non conformist minister who died in Deptford, Kent in 1785. According to the published sermon performed to mark his death he was born on Dartmouth in 1722. I have alot of details about his life but have been unable to find out about his birth and hence his parents.
In it he mentions 2 unmarried sisters Mary and Johanna and a married sister, Elizabeth. I can't be sure of the first letter of her surname, but the rest is 'olton.
An Elizabeth Olding marries Henry Colton in Plymouth in 1759.
There is a baptism of a daughter Mary Colton in 1760 at John's church. Henry Colton is 'of HMS Monarch'.
family tree with photos also on ancestry, wife Sarah buried with him May not have been born in Dartmouth, Hampshire possible with father Thomas tree mentions a daughter Ann.
Married Sarah Walker in Northampton may 1744, described of Gloucester. Will mentions his mother in law Mrs Walker of Northampton, who left money to the children.(so I looked up marriage) 8 children in total, some children buried with him in Deptford, Samuel died 1789 @34, Benjamin 34 in 1793 John 1805 a banker and possible wife of his 1795, or his sister, same address given, his widow died in 1801 Tree on line not very detailed, and am doubtful about his parentage given there, as the person has not read the will and put all the children on and put a different marriage for him. Given the ages of children above, you should be able to find their births. Could be anywhere in the country, as ministers moved about a lot. Found a John Olding marrying in London 1721, so could be the father. Of you google him there are pictures of him on line.
