if you go on familysearch.org, and put in his name and Ireland, you will find 2/3 birth Registrations, you will know which district will be right, and can find out the registration office address and send for his birth cert. Its either 1916 or 1917, as you have to allow a year back, as when he died at 48 he was in his 49th year of life, unless he died within days of his birthday. |
What is interesting is that there are 2 others named Argue, whose deaths are recorded in Devon, they may/may not be related to you, but will give you the details, I have found just in case. Thomas Argue, 71 died registered Totnes 1940, he married wife Augusta Clusky in 1906 Liverpool, it looks as if he was married before, so could have been a second marriage for both, in 1939 they are living in Paignton, and she died in Plymouth aged 93.
