Johns first child is named =
Mary Jane EDGCUMBE Brushett, bapt at Stoke Damerel on 19 feb 1815.
have no idea where that name comes from.
The next child I have is Thomas Parker Brushett, baptised at St James ,Middlesex 30 April 1820. All the subsequent children include the Parker as a forname.
I think the name Brushett is actually ' based ' in Dorset.
It seems odd that as soon as he leaves the area he assumes the name Parker as part of his identity.
I have been informed that Mary Hawkins Brushett is buried at Hendon, but not been able to verify that.
Johns fifth child is named, Sarah Hawkins Parker Brushett, so I presume after his wife.
I have the death certificate for him at Lambeth. Which states his father is Thomas Brushett, tailor.
There are a couple of Thomas Brushetts in that period -that might fit in Dorset, but i dont know if that is feasible.
