The marriage certificate shows my John Boyce had a father also named John Boyce. I got really excited about the Stoke Fleming possibility but that all proved a red herring.
As well as trying to locate parents, I also loose my JOHN BOYCE in 1851 census. If he had been working for Adams Weymouth, farmer at Collaton for 10 years it seems unlikely his name would just have slipped the farmers mind when the census was completed. In 1861 my John Boyce said he was born Malborough but he is not in the parish baptisms.
I feel I am missing something here!
His children were never baptised. I think possibly there is a Baptist connection. Malborough has a big Baptist chapel does anyone know where its records are kept?
