Posted by BOZ on 8/2/2003, 12:17 pm, in reply to "Divided Loyalties?" I live just up the road from Queensferry making me a Welsh Chester supporter, my father who supported Chester many years before me was born just inside the Welsh border in Saltney; his Father being born in Chester. That is not untypical of many people living in the Deeside and bordering areas. The Deeside area must have as many English as Welsh living there, and I would defy anyone to tell them apart. Who do i support at international level? I hear the anti Welsh banter at the ground and it doesn't bother me as it is usually aimed at Wrexham who are after all the arch enemy of years gone by. I somtimes hear anti-Welsh comment that makes me cringe but you always get those who goto far. I have read some none to pleasent anti-Welsh and English posts on this board. Those who preach hatred usually have a deep rooted loathing of themselves and should be viewed as the inadequate people that they have become.

The area I live in is unusual as it has what could almost be called a grey area where England and Wales merge.
As Iam Welsh I do support the Welsh team but coming from this grey area where my family also have English roots, if the England team are playing I can be seen in the pub with every one else cheering on the England team.
