Having worked away at another branch of my company, I had travelled down with a non-smoker in his car, I handled the journey quite well. As he didnt pull into a service area, there hadn't been a time for a smoke and the destination was an oil refinery completely no smoking.
At the end of the day we retired to the little guest house which again was non-smoking by this time I was so tired I went to bed, the next morning I got up and had breakfast and went outside for a smoke, I didn't realise that the nicotine would hit me so powerfully, as I finished my ciggy and took a step up to the pathway, I lost my footing due to the dizziness and fell over.
I could see people in the guesthouse through the window, so I got up and I could feel my cheeks burning with the embarassement.
As I re-entered no-one said anything so, I didn't get a second embarassing moment.
Mind you looking back if someone had seen they would of thought I was either drunk or passing out!
: This was a post from the
: Smoking Ladies board a
: few years back but to
: spark conversation,
: let's give it a go here,
: shall we?
: My most embarassing
: moment as a smoker came
: in my Jr. year at UCF. I
: was stopped at a red
: light in Orlando in my
: old worn out Toyota
: Celica. While I was
: waiting out the light, a
: yellow jacket flew into
: the window, buzzed
: around my head and
: promptly went straight
: down the inside front of
: my blouse.
: In my panic to free
: myself of the seatbelt
: and get rid of the
: offending insect, i
: knocked the fire off the
: end of my cigarette,
: which then fell directly
: into my lap.
: Now I'm getting
: simultaneously burned to
: a crisp and stung by a
: yellow jacket. While I
: was thrashing around, my
: foot slipped off the
: clutch and the car
: lurched forward, ramming
: a Ford pickup squarely
: in the rear. Of all the
: people to ram, the guy
: driving the truck just
: had to be an off-duty
: cop.
: The truck didnt even
: suffer a scratch as the
: trailer hitch took most
: of the lick, but my old
: Corolla didnt fair quite
: as well.
: The guy was so sweet
: about the whole incident
: and eventually laughed
: about it. After we
: exchanged insurance and
: License info, he
: scratched his head and
: said, "Don't worry
: about it."
: I cried then but now
: looking back, I guess it
: was hilarious.
