Question on Sweet potatoes

Does anyone have a good recipe for sweet potatoes, I want something different besides just potatoes, but have never made them before, do you cook them like a regular potato, peel before cooking or peel after cooking? then just add like cinnamon, nutmeg or what do you mix for flavor? Thank you, Any help is appreciated. Pat in Michigan
