The bell if in good condition is worth about $500.00, the alarm box and pedistial about $300.00 to 500.00 depending upon condition, the helmet does it have a leather front? or plastic front? is it a leather helmet or plastic helmet?and what is the overall condition that will determine the worth. as for the log book these don't bring much, but if it is still in 1 piece and not falling apart ( most are pretty beat up) then probably about $50.00 to $100.00 depending upon how big it is .
: I have several items from the Chicago
: Fire Department and was wondering if
: anyone would know the value of these
: items or if anyone out there buys
: these items.
: 1. Silver bell (heavy & large)
: that once went on the truck.
: 2. Chicago Fire Alarm box with ALL
: the 'guts' and the stand.
: 3. "Capt." leather Cairns
: & Bro. helmet. (old)
: 4. AND PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT
: ONE...the date book (I think the
: deputy wrote in?), leather, from 1958
: that showed the time called in,
: firefighters on duty & off, how
: many died, etc. from the Our Lady of
: Angels fire.
