Posted by Bill R on 1/17/2005, 2:14 am, in reply to "Re: the fb program " Milton College was Not NCAA Div 3, we were NAIA Div 3. We were not independant, but part of the Illini-Badger Conference. Other teams in out conference were University of Chicago, Northeastern Illinois, Eureka College and Concordia College-River Forest IL, the ones I recall. I already have exchanged emails with Pastor Leary, but FWIW, our uniforms were exactly like the Notre Dame uniforms. We had Gold painted Riddell or Bike Air helmets (ours didn't have 24Kt gold like ND) with grey face guards, Gold pants, Jerseys were (home) Dk Blue big mesh with white numbers and (away) White with Dk Blue numbers. We played a few independent NCAA teams like Ripon and Lawerence University, regularly, but we weren't... Dave was a great guy and team mate. I have no idea how or if fame changed him but our coach still keeps in touch! And I got to know Dave's high school football coach later on and coached with him in the mid 80's. BTW, Dave's nickname in college was "Cobra". I don't know why, as he got it before I was there!
