Posted by Clay on 1/18/2004, 5:57 pm, in reply to "Re: Dave Krieg Sucks" Maybe you should try and talk about something you know about instead of taking a glance at Krieg's stats and thinking you know anything. In Detroit, he was brought in to backup Scott Mitchell, who was thought to have become a great QB sitting behind Marino. He wasn't. Krieg didn't miss two games, he only got to start half of the season after Mitchell left with an injury. Krieg DID lead that team to the playoff's and would have led them even further next year if they had let Krieg take over the team. Instead, they did the same stupid thing you do, judge a guy based on age and history instead of Heart and performance. They dumped Krieg, and proceeded to disintegrate with even Hall of Famer Barry Sanders losing faith and leaving the team. Vinny Testeverde? How is he ten times better? He won a super bowl? No. He has been to the Probowl 30 times? No. He has better stats? No. --Previous Message--

Whatever.
: Well, I guess I riled some people up.
: I was just trying to see how many
: people actually cared enough to reply
: to my stupid comments. Anyway, Steve
: Largent was good in part because of
: Krieg.
: SpcaeGHOST, when Krieg was with the
: Lions, he only passed for 1629 yds.
: he did have a 61.8% completion rating
: and only 3 ints to 14 TDs, but then
: he only had 212 attempts. He also
: missed two games. As far as Barry
: SAUNDERS, in 1994, he had more
: rushing attempts (331) and rushing
: yds (1883) than
: Krieg had pass attempts or pass yds.
: Also, Barry had 7 rush TDs, half of
: Kreig's pass TD total, and had one of
: those receiving TD's, too. I think
: it's safe to say that while Krieg
: helped that team, he did not LEAD
: them to the playoffs, Barry SAUNDERS
: did. I've never cleaned a sewer, but
: then I've bever been inside your
: brain, either. I do have knowledge
: in being an A-Hole, though, and
: occasionally drinking beer. In
: conclusion, SpaceGHOST, I'll stick to
: making comments about how much beer
: Dave Krieg drank and how much of an
: A-Hole he was. Also, I think YOU
: should be the one making the comments
: about how Dave Krieg should have
: cleaned sewers and picked up garbage
: instead of being an NFL QB, if I
: understand you correctly.
: No, richie, I have never played
: organized football. I've played just
: about every other organized sport you
: can think of. Also, even in pickup
: games, I rarely play QB because I
: have a noodle arm. That's the same
: reason I stopped playing baseball,
: that and a broken wrist. But I'm
: sure YOU will be a hall-of-fame QB
: some day, richie, just keep whining
: and posting on this site.

: : Captain A-Hole
: Your totally off base with your
: assessment of Dave Krieg's career in
: the NFL. Len Styles, the former
: player personal director with the
: Kansas City Chiefs made this comment
: about Dave Krieg and Joe Montana.
: He stated that Dave and Joe are
: equally talented, the only difference
: between them was that Dave played
: with the Seabags and Joe played with
: the 49ers.
: Joe had great talent surrounded
: around him and was in a great
: offensive system, when he played with
: the 49ers.
: Dave was in a shit offensive
: system and was surrounded with shit
: talent, except for Steve Largent,
: when he played with the Seabags.
: Dave really proved this when he
: was with the Detriot Lions. That was
: the first time in his career he was
: surrounded with great talent. He had
: Barry Saunders, Bret Perriman,and
: Herman Moore.
: He had a quarterback rating of
: 116 and led the team into the
: playoffs. He did all of this at the
: age of 36.
: In conclusion, Captain A-Hole
: you should stick to making comments
: about things you have knowledge in,
: like cleaning sewers,picking up
: garbage, drinking beer, and being an
: A-Hole.

: I 'll admit, Dave Kreig posted some
: good numbers, andhe had a heck of a
: career for a small town, small
: college kid, but really folks, what
: has he ever won? How many playoff
: games did this guy win?
: And if he would have been so AWESOME
: on good teams, why didnt they EVER
: pick him up? maybe it was because he
: fumbled the ball all the time, or
: maybe it was something to do with the
: 200 interceptions he threw.
: Come on Sean, get a life. This guy
: was good, but it's time to move on.
: Oh yeah, Testaverde passed Krieg not
: only in Passing Yards, but also in
: Fumbles.
: Testaverde is 10 times the QB Krieg
: ever was.
