When I first started watching football you are one of the main things that I was hooked. I would watch every Sunday and wonder how Dave would seemingly put his body and life on the line, coordinating comeback after comeback. Dave never gave up. Even though the Hawks did not always win Dave would have me right back in front of the next week rooting for the team and mostly for him. Dave has always been underated but you can see from these messages that once you were a fan you would basically want to kick anyones ass if they even hinted that Dave was not a great player. I wish that the Hawks would have kept Dave and so could have retired here. If you notice Dave fans will fight till they are out of breath on his abilities. The only people putting Dave down are probably Denver or LA fans...lol. I just felt compelled to support one of my most favorite and guttsiest players I have or ever will see. Thanks for all the great memories Dave, hell thanks for the bad ones, because every time I wanted to give up on you I would once again be drawn back by your leadership, character, and overall will to redeem yourself. As the hawks are looking more and more like a playoff team maybe even a super bowl team it reminds me of the pride that I would feel when you would make amazing plays, win games single handedly, or the pride you would show for the team and yourself. You drew in so many loyal hawks fans, part of the reason for the success now is thanks to you. Thanks for being one of my childhood heros and an athelete that always carried himself with respect and also humble, so many players these days need half of the class that you had. You've already been inducted into so many personal halls of fame, you are at the top of my list. GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!
