I don't know where you are, but the leaves will get burned on a sago with a hard frost, or a short duration freeze of about 18 to 20 degrees F. Depending on how healthy the sago is, it takes about 10 to 12 F of our short duration freezes to kill the stem outright. Plants that are under trees take a good frost and lower temperatures than plants out in the open, even though they prefer to be in full sun.
