Sorry Tom, I probably explained myself badly... I originally took the seeds and a Tupperware with a top on it.
I did put some cotton down at the bottom then a fine plastic net on the top of the cotton soaked with water and layed the seeds on that. Because of the heat and the humidity, a few of the seeds cracked open slightly at the botton and a white root came out. I then planted them in the bad medium. They did rot.
I did the whole operation a second time but planting them then (only the slightly cracked bottom of the seed and the white root) in a much drier medium. And I am now concerned with the outershell of the seed who is still not opening up some more... There is that little leaf that came out but it is not growing much. The whole thing is at a stand still. Tom I can do a picture if you want me to. Let me know. And many thanks again. Nicole
