: I have 1 and 3 gallon potted pups I

: too long. They have grown roots out
: of the pots and into the mulch/soil.
: I can easily pick them up as the
: roots can't hold onto the mulch very
: well. Can I safely trim the roots
: to avoid potting up too early to the

It won't be a terrible thing. Any fat roots that you cut, you may want to seal up just in case. I heard your dimensions of the size of plants and the pot sizes, I would step them up into at least the next size pot and give them the extra root room. You have a chance to make your plants grow a lot faster in the long run by cutting away a little from the bottom holes in your pot and putting them in slightly larger pots and circling the long roots. If you were trying to grow these things to sell in a 25 gloon pot, doing this would probably save you 2 years from just cutting the roots off and keeping them in the same size pots. You probably don't care, but just thought I would add that for anyone else who sees this post.
