I'm not sure where you are but these plants aren't extremely cold hardy in my part of central Florida. They take more cold if under cover from trees than if they are out in the open. Under trees they can keep their leaves until we get short term freezes that are around 21F or so. The stems can outright die when exposed to a longer freeze getting a few degrees into the teens. Out in the open, they can have leaf burn at 25 to 28 if the frost is bad enough.
