: i recived three M moorei with 1.4m
: of
: trunk but without roots...they were
: in a nursery for more than a year
: treated badly and now just before
: collapse they gave me these
: plants.....what is the best
: treatment for them now...i have
: planted them in the soil(well
: draining)full sun. How much do i
: have to water them. On each plant
: just a few green leafs are
: left....toto
:
: P.S. sorry for my bad english
:
: Your English was just fine. I would
: have planted them in something
: completely sterile like sand to
: reduce the chances of fungus. I
: would also treat the stems every few
: weeks with a good fungicide, I'm not
: sure what brands are available in
: your country, but a type of systemic
: would probably be best and something
: that reduces rot. If these plants
: are close to collapse, then they are
: possibly already starting to rot. It
: might help to read my article on my
: linked website on never throw away a
: cycad, for tips on saving plants
: that are falling apart, just in case
: you need to do something drastic.
:
: Thanks Tom....

One more question....some leafs are green but the last ones are yellow(is that a sign of some illlnes)...i have planted them in our red limestone(sandy) soil(very rich with Fe)....the outside temp. nowe are 35C/22C. I just dont know how much i have to water them now?
In the nursery there are four more, two of them have some roots(i have cut off all rotten parts)and they are now in one much bigger pot planted in perlite and gravel. The other two are in very bad shape with a part of trunk(where the roots come out)rotten( i have cleaned it the best i can do and treated with some fungicide) and then planted in perlite. The nursery owner asked me if i would take also these four more and try to save them. As i live on a island(no cars) the transport of these is a problem for me(each has more than 350 kg)
So what is their real recovery chance? I would not like to see them die but the transport charges are big.(the deal is for each one which suvives i have to pay 80 USD and for the RIP ones nothing)
