Your English was just fine. I would have planted them in something completely sterile like sand to reduce the chances of fungus. I would also treat the stems every few weeks with a good fungicide, I'm not sure what brands are available in your country, but a type of systemic would probably be best and something that reduces rot. If these plants are close to collapse, then they are possibly already starting to rot. It might help to read my article on my linked website on never throw away a cycad, for tips on saving plants that are falling apart, just in case you need to do something drastic.
