Hi, John and Cheryll, it HAS been a long time, and recently, longer than it should be. I hope you had a good holiday and a new year so far. As you, and everyone else probably have noticed, I haven't been writing in my forum for a while, and for that matter, I haven't been very active in the various forums and yahoo groups for several months.
It is a rather long story, but in September, my wife's brother, who is my age, had to go the hospital and after that, had to move in with us because he was not able to take care of himself like normal. He was living in the only extra room we had, which was my office/computer room, so I didn't get to use my computer when I was used to, so everything I did on the computer would happen maybe once a week or twice a week at best. Meanwhile, every time he had a doctor's appointment, or something like that, my wife would have to drive him back down to Ft. Lauderdale, which for her, was a 5 hour drive, and then stay in his small apartment, sleeping on a chair, while she was down there, sometimes a few weeks at a time. Many things have happened, which is still a long story, but the bottom line is that the doctors said they would be helping him, but instead, they probably caused him to die prematurely.
We are still working with a few things on all this, but things are starting to get back to normal, and I can spend more time helping people with their cycads, spend more time for the society being president, and get back to working more in the nursery. But, this has impacted me more than I ever expected, and has given me another look at life that has made me think more about everything. Anyway, you two have always been nice people and always wish me the best, and I thank you for that. Tom
