Last summer I planted 2 Sago's which was my first experience with them. About 2 months after planting they began to exhibit what appears to be magnesium deficiency, The leaves get yellow "splotches" and eventually turn brown and begin dieing. This started on the oldest leaves and is progressing up the plant. .They have not flushed yet so I don't know what the new fronds will look like. I fertilized when planted with palm tree fertilizer which I now know is not optimum. They are planted in sandy soil and I believe they are watered correctly. I had a soil test performed so now I know what the nutrient levels in the soil are, but not what they should be. Here are the results in ppm: pH 7.05, Phosphorus 38.56, Potassium 125.27, Calcium 3640.66, Magnesium 478.57, Sodium 22.75, Sulfur 30.71, Copper 2.03, Zinc 18.86, Iron 40.50, Manganese 44.97. Does any of this look out of balance enough to cause problems? There appears to be plenty of Magnesium in the soil, but I know that blueberries will show Magnesium deficiency if the Calcium/Magnesium ratio is more then 8 to 1. Thanks
