Yes, I've read your article. The pieces have callused nicely, no more rot. It's good to know that I can try to save them and that some of the seeds will be o.k. I suppose that means the intact seed cone will be o.k. too.
One more question. Should I cut them up to repot them, or just leave them intact? As you can see a couple of the tops have multiple crowns.

: I wrote a couple of months back

: wrong. Unfortunately I haven't been
: paying much attention to them. I
: went to check on them today, and all
: but the very top crowns had rotted
: off. I washed all the rot off that I
: could, and have them laying out to
: dry. The crowns themselves seem very
: firm, but as you can see from the
: picture, there is little left. I
: soaked them in a little baking soda
: water to try to kill as much of the
: rot fungus as I could. I'm bringing
: them inside to dry. One of the seed
: pods feel apart when I went to
: remove it. The other is intact, and I
: brought that inside too. Will the
: seeds ever ripen? I'm heartbroken!
: Please tell me I can somehow save

:
: If you keep the top of that cone
: intact, many of those seeds will
: continue to mature. Any of those
: smaller seeds wouldn't do anything
: anyway. You can still save whats
: left. Have you already read my never
: throw away a cycad article on my
: site? All those pieces can be saved
: and grown out. Both that article and
: my most asked questions section will
: give you the way I would treat those
: stems. I don't think the baking soda
: thing will be good enough. I would
: also pot them up in pure sand and
: keep them under cover for many
: months after you prepare and treat
: them.
