crooked leaves

My sago palm has been planted in my yard for 7 years and is very big. This year the leaves came out the middle as normal but did not fan out as normal. They are all crooked and bunched together and sticking straight up toward the sky. They are very green, no discoloration. The plant is not soft feeling. Any thoughts/suggestions?
