Mr. Broome, thank you sooo much. I am on the third week of the coffee treatment and it is working. I have been spraying the plants with the coffee "tea" once a week on one plant that had more than the others and it has worked better than anything else I have tried. I have contacted others in my subdivision and have passed the word on the coffee solution. So how far away are we from a chemical solution to rid these things from our sagos completely?

: I work very hard and my favorite way
: to relax is to take care of my many
: sago's. I love my plants and they
: have gotten those pesty Asian Scale
: bugs. I have about 70 plants
: ranging in size and I have been
: fighting this for a couple of years.
: I am even trying coffee grounds at
: present. I was told recently to use
: "orphean" or
: "acethate" but I cant find
: either one. What kills these darn
: things. I am at my wits end. Thanks
: to all for your help.

: You have the name wrong. If you
: want to use a product on the shelf
: that would either be Orthene or
: Orthenex (which has Orthene in it as
: well as Funginex in it) My local
: Home Depot carries it. In case you
: haven't read my article on coffee,
: here is the link on TCS website:
