: I have some beautiful Saga Palms and
: the more I trim them the taller they
: get. I wanted them to stay smaller
: because we live in a patio home
: with a rather narrow front yard.
: Can I have the larger ones dug out
: and transplant them in another place
: in by backyard. Will they survive
: as I do not want to just throw them
: away or even leave our house as I
: think they would be very unhappy and
: I would miss them too. Silly, but
: those guys go back in time and I
: respect that they are so beautiful
: and very hearty and very low
: maintenance. We live in Houston,
: Texas and they love the morning sun.
: One more question, what happens if
: I pull the cones out of my males as
: have three this year that growing
: rather rapidly and they get hugh!
: Can I transplate them?
: Thanks,
:

I would not pull the cones off the plants, I would gently cut them off at the peduncle.(little short stems that hold the cone)
Transplanting is easy. I have an article in my website that is linked in the header that tells you exaclt how to do it. Look for the most asked questions in my article area for all the details.
