: I picked up a sago someone had thrown
: away after they had cut off half the
: leaves on one side of the plant. It
: had a small root mass so I assumed
: it had been kept in a pot. I went
: ahead and planted it thinking that
: would be ok. Now I'am thinking I
: should have potted it up. It's only
: been in the ground for two weeks,
: plus I think it's a little too deep.
: What should I do?
:
It should be fine planted in the ground, OR in a pot. As long as your soil isn't mucky or if it sits in water, you are just fine. The leaves may go into a shock if you are growing it in more sun than it was in before, and THAT would be a reason to put it in a pot first, but if you were to cut ALL the leaves off and plant it in the ground, the new leaves will come up and be used to the new condition and the plant will be just fine.
