Just a follow-up from my year-long saga:

The broken Sago has finally produced some roots. I'm curious about this from the FAQ, in the part about rooting offsets:
"Once the offsets are fully rooted you can plant them in your normal medium, and put them out in your growing area."
The broken trunk is in a pot filled with sand. Do I need to switch it now to potting soil?
Also, do I need to wait until the plant has a full root ball (filling up the pot) before I place it back in the yard?
