Just got back from Fairchild in Miami. They have some of the bluest E. princeps and Macrozamia macdonnellii! Their E. lehmannii is pretty blue, but not quite as. Are they applying some sort of waxy spray or something to preserve this color? These cycads are in the open, direct sunlight. Can email you photos too.

: Do the "blue" cycads- E.
: lehamnnii and E. princeps maintain
: their "blue" color in a
: very high humidity climate like s.
: Florida? Also, do they grow well and
: cone?
:
: Its not the humidity, its the
: amount of rain that can wash off the
: wax on the leaves. Places like St.
: Pete that have less rain can grow
: much nicer looking blue plants than
: people like me in the interior. So
: far, nobody has produced male and
: female cones on these in Florida
: that became truly receptive and
: produced seeds. We really do need an
: environment like it is in
: California.
