I get this a lot. If you look at the header on the main page of my forum here you will see something that says "Cycad Junge" That is the link to my regular website for my business, which is The Cycad Jungle. If you read the header it talks about other articles being available there.
I agree that sometimes the perlite can get dry, there is a fine line with that product, but it works good if you get the routine right. Thats why I use the sand. It can get real wet when you use too much water, but works perfectly when you figure that you don't deep water the sand, you just lightly hit the top layer and let a slight moistness go slowly down into the medium. It takes some practice, but I know the sand has a better tolerance than perlite.
