: Hello,I am in northern france near
: dieppe and am making a garden on a
: south facing slope right near the
: sea. Most years the temperature here
: is only around -5°C at the most
: usually not so bad though. This year
: we have had -10°C so far.Could any
: cycads resist in well drained west
: faceing sites?I have quite a few
: Cycas revoluta in a greenhouse
: waiting to go out.An Araucaria
: heterophylla has survived outside
: with netting so far just to give an

The ceratozmaias are the best to handle
-10C Ceratozamia hildae has seen -12 with no leaf damage. C. kuesteriana, C. microstrobila. C. latifolia, C. "Tomazunchale", and the true C. mexicana can all take that temp with little or not leaf burn. The more cold ahrdy Dioon edule types might get burned but don't die at that temp as well.
