Sago germination plastic cover

Hi

Attempting to Cycas revoluta seed. Seen examples of best way to do it. Leaving top third exposed - sewn in bark perlite mix - placed in greenhouse that should hold 70-72 degrees. The question is can I cover with a sheet of plastic to keep these from drying out, or does the exposed side of the seed need to be left exposed for a reason.
