: I meant to include a link to my CAS

: Yes, you can use it. I also have a
: follow up letter from the ag. dept.
: and a copy of the scale
: identification from the entymologist
: office. They also called me again.
: They said they decided to do some
: more inspections, found three more
: nurseries with scale. That seems to
: really have them concerned so much
: so that they are forming a local
: 'scale' task force, and said they
: were going to blitz all the cycad
: outlets they can. They thanked me,
: saying I had helped them realize
: they had a really big problem on
: their hands.
:
: I'd prefer to send the info. via

: I'll contact you via e-mail, but
: business requires me elsewhere at

Its amazing how you saw these pests and then after being treated so badly has now brought attention to the scale being a major concern for your whole area. There is no wonder though because many south Florida nurseries ship to your area, and it is interesting that theyhadn't found it to be a problem already. It just took someone to speak up and be diligent in their actions. You should be highly commended for what you have done, but at the same time, it may help your whole area be rid of a problem that was probably about to be on your doorstep. Now you need to be watching around the landscapes like I always do to see if anyone has infestations that came from these nurseries. For me, I have copied a bunch of copies of my coffee article and pass it around to homeowner associations and that kind of thing when I see problems in a new area.
