It really depends on what your worrying about. If the leaves are just pushing out and you are worried that the leaves will only get half size before they just stop coming out, that is probably unavoidable. I guess I should ask what temperatures you are expecting, because if it is above freezing, all you would have to worry about would be the dwarf looking new leaves.
If the leaves are just coming out and you are going to freeze in a few days, I'd have to put out 4 stakes and cover the thing with some 8 degree frost cloth, and you should be fine. If the leaves are close to full size and you are expecting a frost in the next couple of weeks, then there is a trick to try. If the leaves are full size, they will normally take about 3 weeks to harden off. If you spray full sized leaves with some of that green fungicide that is copper based, many times, I have had leaves harden off in 3 to 5 days.
