I will answer both your questions in this post. First, in the wholesale business, smaller plants are priced by container size. Sometimes people get good deals when the plants are over sized for their containers and not as good deals when people sell their plants fast. Its funny, the larger nurseries that sell lots of plants usually sell them so fast that they aren't giving people a good deal and then places that don't sell plants as fast usually have much better deals. When you get to sagos with larger trunks, then they are priced per foot of clear trunk. It used to be that containerized sagos would wholesale for $125 per foot of clear trunk and full retail price used to be $250 per foot of CT. In Florida, these prices have gone by the wayside because demand is much lower because of the Asian scale killing off so many of the sagos. I have seen deals on sagos wholesaling down to $75 per foot of CT.
Now you have these are in the ground. Like James said, nurseries or landscapers would have to come out and dig them out and then take the rick of them dying on them because of the move. The price they are willing to give someone would vary a lot. If you are in Florida, these might not be easy to sell and they may offer you $50 to $100 each if they have to dig them and pot them up for future sale. Plants with more than 4 foot of stem also take extra care to make sure they don't die. Like I mention in my transplanting article (in the most asked questions) I mention that if too much lateral stress is caused by leaning a dug up plant sideways, small stress fractures are caused and a plant might die up to 3 years later from rot caused by these fractures, so it takes someone who knows their plants to do the move correctly, or at least someone who read my article.
