I have never seen or heard of this until just recently. I have a 3x3 cardboard sago that has flushed, however, the flush is not coming from the center of the plant, like most normal cycads. there is a little stem (exactly like the one that holds the cones-4" HT and about the size of my little finger. at the top of this stem is the emergent leafs. there are a total 5 leafs coming from this point, w/ a few more curled up at the top. I work as an estimator for a large landscape company, so i have resources all over, but no one has ever seen this. I knew you would be the best person to ask. The plant is in excellent health, gets good water and light fert, great sunlight. Odd, eh?
