: I'd go along with this. It sounds
: like you have something going on.
: The spagnum works like a natural
: fungicide and the rest makes sure it
: drains well. You should try it on
: other things to see how it works. On
: a different plant topic, I've had
: problems in the past keeping clivia
: seedlings alive here in Florida and
: I have been using something close to
: what you are doing as a medium and
: now after about a year and a half,
: I'm not killing any more clivias.
I definitely plan to continue with this spagnum idea. The only bad thing is the area economy is really really bad here. Las Vegas is really gloomy economically right now, and my wife has forbid me from buying any seeds for at least the time being. But I still have some unsprouted brandts I can play around with. Also she thinks I'm crazy. I'll show her a new radicle from one of the micro's, and of course I'm happy, but she see some guy saying, "wow, Hey, look at this!!", and she thinks I'm mad. she's probably right.
On a last note: it would be interesting for some scientist type to look at what is in the spagnum moss that seems to have an antifungal effect. Maybe someday someone can make a product from this just for seeds and seedlings.
