: I reacently purchased an Encephalartos
: lehmannii and was wondering about
: its culture. It usually only drops
: below 20 degrees F.here once or
: twice a year. Should I plant it in
: full sun or under the shade of an
: evergreen tree?

Pretty much, any of these silver plants are full sun plants. Maybe if you were in Arizona, you might want to shade it a bit because of the extra heat. You probablu won't have to worry about it until you get closer to the mid teens and I know 14 killed it outright in Gainesville Florida. They should take some frost, but a good solid frost, I am guessing you will see some burn. They also like it on the more dry side like horridus, but aren't as picky. I would bet a cold, wet winter would piss it off real bad though.
