The two little vazquezii's I brought home from the spring Palm & Cycad Society meeting have flushed nicely. At the moment, they're surrounded by caladiums. The bed may get a bit crowded in a few years, to judge from photos of the species that Jody Haynes provided for plantapalm, but for now things are looking great.
Thinking of other people's problems with brown leaves, I managed to sunburn/underwater a rather large, multi-stemmed coontie that I had moved from its container under an oak to a new bed in full sun. The plant looked terrible for a few weeks.
Now it's making a grand comeback. No cones, but first a modest flushing with just a dozen leaves, followed by a sort of two-part flush so now there's around fifty new leaves. That's a huge investment for the plant. It's been rewarded with small doses of Cycad Special.
