The one thing I have going for me is that I am still fairly young. I will be 31 this July. I have palms ranging from seedlings to 3 gal including some nice hybrids of Butia x Jubaea and Butia x Syagrus (mule palm). My goal is to be putting palms and cycads in the ground within 5yrs and to have them grown out approaching maturity within 15yrs. Most of what I'm looking for is not available locally and will have to be mail ordered. Cost of course is another factor. I cannot afford to shell out hundreds for individual plants. I would like to start with Ceratozamia kuesteriana, Ceratozamia latifolia, Encephalartos ferox, and Macrozamia johnsonii. I am guessing that 3gal size is about as big as can be shipped at a reasonable cost. So, would 3gal sized plants of the those listed above be able to reach the sizes that I'm shooting for within the next 5 and 15 years?

: Thanks Tom. Aquiring all of these
: should keep me busy for quite a
: while.
:
:: Thanks
: Isaac
: Actually, I have most of those for
: sale in different sizes, so you
: wouldn't have to be all that busy,
: its just coming up with the money to
: get the collection together, or just
: getting a few things a little at a
: time. Even breeding plants can be
: found on some of those species if
: that is important. For me, that is
: how I paid for all my plants. I
: would get breeding plants, start
: some seeds, sell the seeds for the
: cost of the plants, or even make a
: profit to use to buy more plants for
: more breeding. As an example or two,
: I just found a sexed pair of
: latifolias that cost $600 and I just
: set a cone full of seeds that will
: go for $1100 next year if I want to
: sell them. Hildaes are even cheaper
: than that. I just sold a sexed pair
: of hildaes that had cones ready to
: go this season for $150 and the
: female would hold $250 worth of
: seeds if pollinated. It sure beats
: shelling out a lot of money I don't
: have for plants, thats for sure.
